Where It All Began

Founded by David O'Mahoney Snr in 1982, OMBA has grown from its humble beginnings into a trusted advisor to businesses across various sectors. Over the years, we’ve built long-standing relationships with clients in industries such as transport, farming, TV and media, oyster farming, construction, retail, medical professions, and many more. David O Mahoney Snr

B. COMM, F.C.C.A., QFA

As a director of the firm, David is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of OMBA. A qualified accountant with ACCA credentials and a Qualified Financial Advisor, David brings over 40 years of experience in practice. His commitment to delivering exceptional service ensures that every client receives the highest level of attention and expertise.

Dave O Mahoney Jnr

DIP. in Prof. ACC, F.C.C.A, QFA

David is a director of OMBA and oversees the day-to-day management of the firm. With over 20 years of experience, he is a qualified accountant (ACCA), a Qualified Financial Advisor, and holds a Diploma in Accountancy from Athlone. As the son of the firm’s founder, David O'Mahoney Snr, he is deeply committed to continuing the legacy of excellence and ensuring that every client receives personalized, high-quality service and expert financial advice.

Jason Tobin

BSc BIS, F.C.C.A

Jason holds a BSc in Business Information Systems and is a qualified accountant (ACCA) with over 20 years of experience in accountancy practice. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience working with clients across various sectors, including agriculture, retail, motor, road haulage, construction, and services. His clients range from sole traders and partnerships to large corporate entities.

Jason specializes in the following areas:

  • Corporation tax and company secretarial compliance

Christine Devereux

F.C.C.A

Christine is a highly experienced senior accountant with over 30 years of expertise in both practice and industry. She has a deep understanding of accounts preparation and tax compliance, allowing her to deliver tailored solutions that meet each client's unique needs and ensure their financial success.Throughout her career, Christine has worked with a diverse range of clients, focusing on providing personalized service and prioritizing each client’s individual requirements.

She also plays a key role in training and mentoring junior accountants, sharing her extensive knowledge to maintain the highest standards in the profession.

Sarah O Mahoney

B. Comm, MSc Finance, F.C.A

Sarah is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with over 20 years of experience in the accountancy field. She holds a First Class Bachelor of Commerce degree from UCC and a First Class Master’s in Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. After completing her accountancy training with KPMG, Sarah worked as a treasury and financial accountant in industry before returning to the family practice.

Outside of work, Sarah is a dedicated mother to two children, Sam and Isla. In her downtime, she enjoys reading and exploring local beaches with her dog, Murphy.

Caoimhe Egan

BSc in Finance, F.C.C.A

Caoimhe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from NUI Maynooth and qualified as an accountant with ACCA in 2014. She spent 8 years working as an accountant in Australia before returning to Ireland in 2022. Caoimhe joined OMBA in 2023, bringing with her a broad range of experience working with clients across sectors including agriculture, retail, construction, and services.

Caoimhe provides comprehensive services to sole traders, partnerships, and companies, specializing in accounts preparation for income tax and corporation tax returns. With her extensive knowledge of all aspects of accounting, she is well-equipped to address the individual needs of each client.

Martina Mullins

HDip HRM, CMA

Martina joined the team in 2024 as a Senior Accountant. With over 25 years of experience across industry, education, and practice, Martina brings a broad range of knowledge and qualifications to the team. She is a qualified accountant and a Certified Payroll Technician, having previously delivered payroll courses for the Irish Payroll Association (IPASS).

In addition to her accounting and payroll expertise, Martina holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from UCC, further expanding her skill set in HR. With her diverse qualifications and practical experience in accounting, payroll, training, and human resources, Martina is a valuable asset to our practice.

Martina provides a wide range of services for clients, including accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and companies, income tax and corporation tax returns, PAYE and VAT returns, payroll and HR advice, and training on computerized bookkeeping and payroll software.

Mary Tobin

ATI, Trainee Accountant

Mary joined our team as an Accounting Technician after qualifying in 2022. Since then, she has gained valuable experience across a variety of sectors, including construction, agriculture, and hospitality.

Mary is currently furthering her qualifications by studying with Chartered Accountants Ireland, and we are proud to support her in advancing her accountancy career.

Professional and diligent in all aspects of her work, Mary consistently demonstrates a strong eagerness to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our clients.

Kirsten Scerri

Junior Accountant

Kirsten is a qualified accountant with over 11 years of experience in finance and taxation. Her career began in 2009 as a clerk with an aviation company, and over time, she advanced her skills, eventually working as an Analyst with a Maltese government entity. In this role, she worked closely with the Chief Tax Officer of VAT before relocating to Ireland.

Currently, Kirsten is working with us as a Junior Accountant and Administrator, roles that allow her to continue developing her expertise and advancing her career. With a passion for numbers and a natural talent for interpreting complex financial data, Kirsten thrives in her work.

Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending quality time with her young son, whether it’s playing games or watching movies together as a family.

William Devereux

Trainee Accountant

William is a trainee accountant currently honing his skills in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. He is gaining valuable hands-on experience with accounting software, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis, working closely under the guidance of senior accountants.

Detail-oriented and eager to learn, William is dedicated to building a solid foundation in accounting principles and regulations. His goal is to become a fully qualified accountant and make a meaningful contribution to the success of the firm.

We provide a fixed fee quote based on the complexity and volume of the work we’ll be doing together. This ensures transparency, so you know exactly what to expect. If any additional tasks arise throughout the year, we will give you a quote in advance, unless the matter is urgent and requires immediate action to protect your best interests.

To make managing costs easier, we offer the option to pay our fees monthly, helping you avoid a large invoice all at once and improving your cash flow. And rest assured, if you have a quick question or query, you won’t be charged. We encourage you to reach out to us anytime, as we’re here to support you.

Absolutely! If you prefer to maintain your own accounting records, that's perfectly fine. However, if you need assistance, we can provide training to help you understand the best way to prepare your financial information. This will make it easier for us to complete your accounts or tax returns. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can handle everything for you, allowing you to focus on running your business without the added worry of bookkeeping.

Sometimes, it helps to get a fresh perspective on your business. We’ll take the time to listen to you, understand the history of your business, and discuss how you want to develop it moving forward. We can conduct a "health check" of your operating systems, management practices, and financial reporting processes.
